Digital Culture Bachelor’s courses

The lectures in the Digital Culture module equip students with the skills necessary to use the information and communication technologies that help us navigate the digital environment, as well as interact with society and find digital solutions for professional tasks. 

Here, you will learn to formulate problems, choose the correct tools and algorithms for data analysis, and use them. You will also be able to interpret the results that you get.

Applied Artificial Intelligence Master’s courses

The module allows students to achieve advanced skills in digital technology needed to solve professional problems.

Within the framework of the disciplines in the module, you will study the key principles of data processing and learn to apply them to solve practical tasks, as well as master the best tools and technologies for a comfortable living in the digital environment.

Master’s program

Our Master’s program in Data Analytics equips students with the skills to extract insights from complex data, develop machine learning models, and apply AI-driven solutions across industries. Combining theory with hands-on experience, the curriculum covers statistical analysis, big data processing, predictive modeling, and deep learning. Students work on real-world projects in collaboration with industry partners, gaining expertise in data-driven decision-making, natural language processing, and computer vision.

ITMO University offers a special Foundation Program, which is an intensive Russian course aimed at equipping international students with all the skills needed for studying at a Russian university

Summer SchoolBig data: storage and processing

This course provides a practical, hands-on introduction to modern database technologies, focusing on both SQL and NoSQL systems. You’ll gain real-world experience by working directly with databases, applying key concepts to solve practical tasks and making your own project

You will learn about creating data structures, stored procedures and functions, indexes, views, as well as how to write SQL queries, use transactions and analytic (window functions). In the second module, you will learn about the core concepts of NoSQL systems  with hands-on practice in Redis, Cassandra, Neo4J and MongoDB. Remote access to the authors’ demo databases is provided for completing the tasks.

Format and access: Online.

Online format includes access to the online course: five video and text lectures with various self-check quizzes and assignments after each lecture. Additionally, there are daily webinars on specific topics where we both discuss the theoretical framework of the course as well as extra material and make practices online. We provide 24/7 teacher support through messengers and e-mail. Online course access is limited to timelines of the summer school.
